Buffet food trend is picking up in our country at a very good pace, and wherever you go, you do see a couple of good options for a nice buffet meal these days. Recently I went down to Global Food Factory at Rajouri Garden, Delhi. Read on for the review!
The ambience is warm and welcoming. with exposed brick walls and newspaper-print on chairs for a quirky touch.
You can order both a-la-carte and buffet menus, and they offer European, Mediterranean, American, Tex-Mex, Chinese, Thai, North Indian, Japanese cuisines, with special promotions and food festivals from time to time.
Coming to the food, we tried a whole lot of food from their menu, like Burrito Bowl, chicken tandoori, haryali kebab, stuffed mushrooms, wood fired pizza, doner kebabs, etc., my favorite being the burrito bowl wherein the burrito fillings was served in a bowl. The kashmiri haryali kebabs were good too.
We went for the Kashmir-Burma-Mexico food festival, and found the main course menu to be a bit on the confusing side in terms of the variety. The starters were better organised is what we feel. From the main course, we tried Dal Panchmael, Kashmiri Rajma, veg peas pulao, Burmese chicken curry etc. While the overall experience was good, I enjoyed the starters more than the main course. The starters had much more variety, and most of them were good, with minor flaws here and there in some of them. However, I found the main course to be a little lackluster in comparison to the starters.
The drinks on the menu were quite good, and made for a nice accompaniment to the food.
On the whole, we’d recommend Global Food Factory primarily for the starters and drinks.
