Delhi’s landmark eatery Moets has come up with a new pan-asian restaurant right next to the original Moets in Defence Colony. We went down for a tasting a few days back. Read on for the deets!
The interiors are warm and welcoming, with comfy seating and dim, relaxed lighting in the evenings. Once we were comfortably settled, we started off with some soups. The Laksa soup with sea food and coconut base had an amazing taste and the presentation in a coconut itself took the soup experience a few notches up. The Tom Yum soup had the right flavors too.
From there we moved on to dimsums and baos which were stunning. The baos with the soft bao and crunchy fillings and delish toppings were an interesting experience in textures and flavors, and something we always enjoy in any dish. The dimsums were simply amazing in terms of taste. I think I stomached more than I should have.
Chef Saurav Bhatnagar is the brain behind designer sushis and experimental dishes, and upon his insistence, we tried some sushi rolls, and needless to say, totally loved them. This is when we are NOT sushi fans. If we can finish off full portions of sushi, it says a lot about Chef Saurav’s work!
By this time we were nearly full, but the amazing main course was awaiting us. Loved the red Thai curry (with sticky rice) and vegetable clay pot. Again, the flavors were amazing.
For desserts we tried Tiramisu which was alright. But then they outsource desserts, so no complaints there.
Overall, visit Oh Bao for the amazing dimsums and ‘designer’ sushi rolls for sure! The staff is warm and friendly, and the service was good too!
