If you have been following me on Instagram, you already must know that last weekend, I was in the pretty hill-station Kullu (Himachal Pradesh, India) for one of my best friend’s engagement and a weekend getaway! Here’s to give you all the details on my outfit which got a lot of adulation and enquiries on social media. Read on!
So, the thing is, I had a vision about this outfit in my mind since long. Everything about this outfit was conceptualized and sourced by me, and my boutique did a very fine job of executing the outfit to it’s final form (albiet with some panic-striken days and alterations).
So since this was going to be a winter engagement in a hill station, and we were expecting snowfall in Kullu at that time, I decided to keep it all bright and chirpy with the main outfit. I selected a bright royal blue for the main shirt/ kurta, which had an interesting slit on the front from the tummy till the bottom. Since there was a slit in the front/side, I added raw silk straight pants in lime green. The part above the slit- I bought gold zari ‘jaal’ and got it attached to the top and some accents around the cuffs. The zari had see-through pattern, so the blue fabric from underneath could pop-through.
On the last day of the trip, while the rest of the gang headed to Manali, I, along with my friend Divya (who is also my co-author on the blog) stayed back in Kullu ‘coz of some health issues, but went out for some local sight-seeing around the river Beas. What stunning view of the river, the snow-capped mountains around us, the stillness in the air! #PEACE
It was thankfully a very bright, sunny day. Though I did miss the snow this time too. Yes, I’ve never seen snow for real *truckloads of tears*
This time too, life had other plans! 🙁 But I could sit around the river side with a cup of hot chocolate and a nice book for hours at a stretch. If only we had the time!
Okay, now this was a funny sight. The water level was tooo low, and people were rafting in there! 😐
Until next time!
