Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! Here’s hoping this new day will bring peace, love, joy and lots of success for everyone!
There comes a time in our life when we shrug some people off our priority list, just because they do not add anything positive to our life. It is good to have people you love around you, but equally important to leave the negative ones outside your ‘zone’ lest they start affecting you negatively. I admit to being slightly selfish in this regard, and my own mental peace is so much more important for me than anything else!
Are you a positive person inherently?
I, for one, am a hopeless optimist. And I like doing things which add to the positivity and make me a happier person from within. As much as I can, I avoid negative things and people in my vicinity, in my life. And the same also holds true for books! Positive thoughts reflect in everything that you do and bring you even better days in life ahead.
The prelude was because I recently read the much raved about book- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It is a tragic love story, and the protagonist and her love are both dying of cancer, the antagonist in the book. Coming from medical background, I have seen such things happen on an everyday basis. The diva is back!
After being bashed for her red carpet appearances over the years (and sometimes for the wrong reasons like post-pregnancy weight-gain: that’s totally acceptable, IMHO!), for her latest Cannes ’14 appearance, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan totally upped the amp on the red carpet- in a smouldering, melting-gold, mermaid style, off-shoulder gown by Roberto Cavalli.
The gold gown with loose, voluminous curls in the hair, statement red pout (I’m guessing it is MAC Ruby Woo) and minimal accessories made for a splendid red-carpet look.
Crop tops are a huge trend this season, and every celebrity seems to be ‘repeatedly’ showing off this trend. The style is really funky, edgy and very modern, and seems to have come back under the fashion radar after having ‘been there’ during the times of Zeenat Aman and the likes a few decades back 😀
Here are some interesting, modern ways of rocking this trend:
Sonam Kapoor is, needless to say, always on top of the list when it comes to fashion inspiration in India. Here she has paired a crop top with a long skirt. An effortless style, which is perfect for a weekend outing or brunch, or a girl-date 🙂
