Bridesmaids’ diary: The ‘Cocktail’ OOTD

Helloo everyone!

It’s been such a long time since I posted on this blog. April was a very hectic month for me, with two of my friends getting married in a span of 10 days. Being a bridesmaid is one tough job, I tell you! So much so that I forgot to click my OOTD pics at all the functions. Whoops! While you are doing 10 other things for the bride, clicking your own solo pics is the last thing on your mind!

Anyhoo, here’s presenting some pics for you guys that I clicked from my phone. Hope you’ll like them. Kindly bear with the picture quality :*

#OOTD: Shrug it off!

There comes a time in our life when we shrug some people off our priority list, just because they do not add anything positive to our life. It is good to have people you love around you, but equally important to leave the negative ones outside your ‘zone’ lest they start affecting you negatively. I admit to being slightly selfish in this regard, and my own mental peace is so much more important for me than anything else!

The fault in our stars?!

Are you a positive person inherently?

I, for one, am a hopeless optimist. And I like doing things which add to the positivity and make me a happier person from within. As much as I can, I avoid negative things and people in my vicinity, in my life. And the same also holds true for books! Positive thoughts reflect in everything that you do and bring you even better days in life ahead.

styling blue dress indian fashion blogger The prelude was because I recently read the much raved about book- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It is a tragic love story, and the protagonist and her love are both dying of cancer, the antagonist in the book. Coming from medical background, I have seen such things happen on an everyday basis. And even then, it is difficult to imagine the pain and agony that cancer brings with it. Or any other terminal disease, for that matter. Continue reading The fault in our stars?!

Lakme Fashion Week W/F 2014: Day 0

Hey everyone!

Lakme Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2014 kick-started to a rocking show by designers Masaba Gupta and Amit Aggarwal yesterday. below is a glimpse 😉

Masaba Gupta ‘Wanderness’ collection

The collection takes inspiration from renowned poet Roman Payne’s character Saskia, had all the characteristic touches that the young designer lavishes on her garments.

Inspired by the Goan woman whose adventurous and free thinking nature has been iconic, Masaba brought these qualities along with a hint of delicate touches for her line. Going for the vintage 1960’s look, the colour palette burst onto the ramp with lavish use of yellow and neon hues and created that splash of Goan flavour. Masaba’s fabric choice was scuba, satin, jersey and crepe for the trio of prints.

For a show stopping entry, it had to be Shilpa Shetty in a slinky black printed cut-out gown with an attached dupatta drape – just the right addition for a beach time soirée

Out of the box!

Hey everyone!

So it was my bestie’s birthday the other day and me and my girls headed to ‘Out of the Box’ at Hauz Khas Village. All we wanted was to catch up with each other and chit-chat about all that’s happening in our lives. Even tough I meet my friends almost every week and we talk over phone literally all day, our hectic professional lives don’t allow the whole gang to meet every time, but birthdays are meant to be ‘Out of the Box’.

The place is set across a few floors, and the decor in all of them is slightly different from each other. There’s enough room to seat a whole lot of people, but if you have a favorite corner/ couch, I recommend you get it reserved well in advance. The dim lighting and lots of natural-light seeping in through the windows makes the ambience perfect for all occassions. I don’t have many pics of the restaurant as such, since I wasn’t there on a ‘food bloggers’ event but with my friends- I do have a few food pictures for you to relish! The food is really nice, and I would madly recommend the dimsums, even though I had just the vegetarian ones this time.

Pick or Miss? Aishwarya Rai in Armani Prive at amFAR dinner- Cannes 2014

Hey everyone!

So I’m back with another of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Cannes-2014 appearances- she wore an outfit very similar to her last two appearances, yet rocked it!

For the amFAR dinner that she hosted with hubby Abhishek Bachchan, she wore a light beige, pearl-studded gown from Armani Prive, accessorised with Chopard jewellery. Her makeup- teal eyes with red lips– made for a nice statement look. Her hair was simple and voluminous.
