Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! Here’s hoping this new day will bring peace, love, joy and lots of success for everyone!
There comes a time in our life when we shrug some people off our priority list, just because they do not add anything positive to our life. It is good to have people you love around you, but equally important to leave the negative ones outside your ‘zone’ lest they start affecting you negatively. I admit to being slightly selfish in this regard, and my own mental peace is so much more important for me than anything else!
Lakme Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2014 kick-started to a rocking show by designers Masaba Gupta and Amit Aggarwal yesterday. below is a glimpse 😉
The collection takes inspiration from renowned poet Roman Payne’s character Saskia, had all the characteristic touches that the young designer lavishes on her garments.
Inspired by the Goan woman whose adventurous and free thinking nature has been iconic, Masaba brought these qualities along with a hint of delicate touches for her line. Going for the vintage 1960’s look, the colour palette burst onto the ramp with lavish use of yellow and neon hues and created that splash of Goan flavour. Masaba’s fabric choice was scuba, satin, jersey and crepe for the trio of prints.
For a show stopping entry, it had to be Shilpa Shetty in a slinky black printed cut-out gown with an attached dupatta drape – just the right addition for a beach time soirée
Yesterday I happened to visit the Taj Mahal hotel in Delhi for an event, and I couldn’t resist getting clicked, given the ethereal ambience of the hotel.
Summers are at their peak in Delhi, and comfy clothes and minimal jewellery are the order of the day! A touch of style with floral pants with a zippered ankle, sheer white top with cut-out neck-line and tan shoes and bag are a no-brainer outfit combination.
This is the first time I got myself a printed trouser- I am more of a plain-trousers kinda person by style, but I am slowly warming up to wearing printed lowers. Also, a small fashion tip for all the dusky ladies who shy away from wearing white (I always did), and for all others who don’t wear sheer white tops- wear a black camisole underneath, instead of white. It helps reduce the sheerness of the top, brings down the white-ness (if that is even a word!), and makes a crisp white more wearable. You may also go matchy-matchy and wear a cami matching your pants/ bottoms.
So it was my bestie’s birthday the other day and me and my girls headed to ‘Out of the Box’ at Hauz Khas Village. All we wanted was to catch up with each other and chit-chat about all that’s happening in our lives. Even tough I meet my friends almost every week and we talk over phone literally all day, our hectic professional lives don’t allow the whole gang to meet every time, but birthdays are meant to be ‘Out of the Box’.
The place is set across a few floors, and the decor in all of them is slightly different from each other. There’s enough room to seat a whole lot of people, but if you have a favorite corner/ couch, I recommend you get it reserved well in advance. The dim lighting and lots of natural-light seeping in through the windows makes the ambience perfect for all occassions. I don’t have many pics of the restaurant as such, since I wasn’t there on a ‘food bloggers’ event but with my friends- I do have a few food pictures for you to relish! The food is really nice, and I would madly recommend the dimsums, even though I had just the vegetarian ones this time.

So while the world was still swooning over Aishwarya Rai’s first red-carpet appearance at Cannes 2014, she came back again to surprise us all! Well, not much, but yes. She wore a Roberto Cavalli gown again, in a similar golden-white tone as the last time.
The diva is back!
After being bashed for her red carpet appearances over the years (and sometimes for the wrong reasons like post-pregnancy weight-gain: that’s totally acceptable, IMHO!), for her latest Cannes ’14 appearance, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan totally upped the amp on the red carpet- in a smouldering, melting-gold, mermaid style, off-shoulder gown by Roberto Cavalli.
The gold gown with loose, voluminous curls in the hair, statement red pout (I’m guessing it is MAC Ruby Woo) and minimal accessories made for a splendid red-carpet look.
Yes, once again, Sonam Kapoor sashayed down the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival today, leaving everyone spellbound! Like her previous appearances at the coveted red carpet, this time too, she managed to turn many a heads. Sonam wore a black Ellie Saab couture number, and with her retro hair, minimal accessories and simple makeup (her MUA is Namrata Soni- I had a chance to meet her in person at an event by L’Oreal, and trust me, she is the most down-to-earth celebrity MUA ever! Follow her!), I think she looked amazing!
