There comes a time in our life when we shrug some people off our priority list, just because they do not add anything positive to our life. It is good to have people you love around you, but equally important to leave the negative ones outside your ‘zone’ lest they start affecting you negatively. I admit to being slightly selfish in this regard, and my own mental peace is so much more important for me than anything else!

Are you a positive person inherently?
I, for one, am a hopeless optimist. And I like doing things which add to the positivity and make me a happier person from within. As much as I can, I avoid negative things and people in my vicinity, in my life. And the same also holds true for books! Positive thoughts reflect in everything that you do and bring you even better days in life ahead.
The prelude was because I recently read the much raved about book- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It is a tragic love story, and the protagonist and her love are both dying of cancer, the antagonist in the book. Coming from medical background, I have seen such things happen on an everyday basis. And even then, it is difficult to imagine the pain and agony that cancer brings with it. Or any other terminal disease, for that matter. Continue reading The fault in our stars?!
Lakme Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2014 kick-started to a rocking show by designers Masaba Gupta and Amit Aggarwal yesterday. below is a glimpse 😉
Masaba Gupta ‘Wanderness’ collection
The collection takes inspiration from renowned poet Roman Payne’s character Saskia, had all the characteristic touches that the young designer lavishes on her garments.
Inspired by the Goan woman whose adventurous and free thinking nature has been iconic, Masaba brought these qualities along with a hint of delicate touches for her line. Going for the vintage 1960’s look, the colour palette burst onto the ramp with lavish use of yellow and neon hues and created that splash of Goan flavour. Masaba’s fabric choice was scuba, satin, jersey and crepe for the trio of prints.
For a show stopping entry, it had to be Shilpa Shetty in a slinky black printed cut-out gown with an attached dupatta drape – just the right addition for a beach time soirée
Raise your hands, Mumbai people!
Well, I’m an out and out Delhiite, and there’s no place quite like Delhi for me, and I know the quintessential Delhi- Mumbai ‘My City is Better Than Yours’ war of words going about all the time. But honestly, for me and my family, Mumbai has taken from us more than it has given back to us. I wouldn’t get into the details, but I just can’t bring myself to like Mumbai much. No, I don’t hate it. Nevertheless, professional commitments take me to Mumbai quite often, and slowly but steadily, I’m warming up to the city again. 🙂
Two sights that you never see in Delhi- beach and beach-side-greenery (not sure if the ones below are palm trees 😛 )
I just quickly want to share with you guys some of the recent OOTD (outfit of the day) posts that I did on my other blog recently, and some food pics 😀 . Here’s a glimpse of two of my latest posts which happen to be poles apart in all respects.

So I’m back with another of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Cannes-2014 appearances- she wore an outfit very similar to her last two appearances, yet rocked it!
For the amFAR dinner that she hosted with hubby Abhishek Bachchan, she wore a light beige, pearl-studded gown from Armani Prive, accessorised with Chopard jewellery. Her makeup- teal eyes with red lips– made for a nice statement look. Her hair was simple and voluminous.
So while the world was still swooning over Aishwarya Rai’s first red-carpet appearance at Cannes 2014, she came back again to surprise us all! Well, not much, but yes. She wore a Roberto Cavalli gown again, in a similar golden-white tone as the last time.
The diva is back!
After being bashed for her red carpet appearances over the years (and sometimes for the wrong reasons like post-pregnancy weight-gain: that’s totally acceptable, IMHO!), for her latest Cannes ’14 appearance, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan totally upped the amp on the red carpet- in a smouldering, melting-gold, mermaid style, off-shoulder gown by Roberto Cavalli.
The gold gown with loose, voluminous curls in the hair, statement red pout (I’m guessing it is MAC Ruby Woo) and minimal accessories made for a splendid red-carpet look.
