#Travelogue #Andamans: The ocean, Havelock island and Kala Patthar

Hey everyone!

I’m back with part-2 of the Andamans Travelogue series on the blog- and this time, it’s literally a ‘water water everywhere’ kinda post!

After our first day at Port Blair, the next day we headed out to Havelock Island. Travel from one island to another is always by ship, but between Port Blair and Havelock, you can even book a helicopter if you please. We went by ship, coz this is the best way to experience the sea! And this 4 hour journey left us mesmerised- being on a ship with just a bunch of other people, and having nothing else but water around you leaves you with a lot of time to introspect- you feel really tiny and small in front of the vastness of the ocean! Anyhoo, have a look at the pics ๐Ÿ™‚

The ocean was calm as such, and all this turbulence was caused by the movement of our ship. What beauty! What contrasts!

Seeing another island in the middle of nowhere made everyone happy, and for reasons unknown, people started to wave!

And finally we reached Havelock Island.

I see you!

Upon reaching, we checked into our resort at Havelock (details in next post) and after a late lunch, left for Kala Patthar to enjoy the sunset. Kala Patthar, which literally means ‘black stone’ used to be a meeting point for people long back, when there were no roads and routes at Havelock.

Romance!

And then the sun started to set! Haven’t seen a prettier, more serene sunset ever! And like I told you in the previous post, the sun sets in the Andamans around 5.30-6pm ๐Ÿ˜›

Trust me guys, pictures can never do enough justice to the beauty of this place. You must go to Andamans once. And from my personal experience I can tell you, reach Port Blair and leave for Havelock. If you want peace, and want to be surrounded by the marvels of nature, Havelock is the place to be in!

Our stay was at Symphony Palms Resort at Havelock Island. They have beautiful wooden cottages around the beach, amidst a lot of greenery ๐Ÿ˜› . I’d highly recommend this place to you if you are planning to stay at Havelock- very cosy rooms, all wood, packed with all amenities ๐Ÿ™‚
